Pastor Brian S. Carroll
Brian Carroll was called to pastor Northside Baptist Church in December, 2005. He has been married to his wife, Heather, since 2001. They have two boys.
Brian holds a B.S. in Christian Ministries from Shorter College and a Master of Divinity from Beeson Divinity School, Samford University.
His passion is for the local church - "The church has been charged with the most important task ever assigned - the spread of the Gospel to the ends of the earth. The local church has been the trustee of the message of Christ for 2,000 years and must continue to take that call very seriously. Churches today can get off track very easily and spend entirely too much time focusing on useless and insignificant squabbles. If the church is to ever be what she is called to be, then she must worship and exalt the Triune God that we serve. In doing so, the church more readily becomes a place of discipleship, evangelism, and service." Brian also has a deep passion for children and youth - "Prior to coming to Northside, I worked with various after school clubs in Georgia and Alabama and experience a common thread of lost innocence, lost hope, and lost imagination. Kids today need all of these things and I don't know of a better place to give it to them than the local church. It is a place where lost innocence can be replaced with the righteousness of Christ; a place where lost hope can be replaced with hope beyond our wildest imagination; and a place where lost imagination can be replaced by a Savior who calms the storms, who walks on water, who causes the blind to see and the deaf to hear, and who cannot be stopped, even by death. It is a message not just for kids, but for all generations."
When he is not preaching, Brian enjoys being outdoors. Hiking, backpacking, camping, and kayaking/canoeing are some of his favorite activities.
